Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Sarajevo was founded in 1958 and for over 10 years it was the only Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Faculty has been aligned with the concept and structure of the Sarajevo University Statute, which stipulates the adaptation of the Bologna Process Study and Labor Assessment student through the ECTS points.

Through a dynamic and interdisciplinary curriculum, through scientific research and development activities, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering provided students with quality education, challenging development and research activities and work with domestic and foreign universities and colleges, institutions and businesses, and continuously makes progressive contributions to local schools. community and environment.

Bologna rules apply.

The structure of the study is divided into three cycles:

  • Undergraduate course of 6 semesters, which acquires the title of the mechanical engineer (Bachelor, BSc),
  • Graduate study course of 4 semesters, which acquires the academic title of a graduated mechanical engineer (Master of Science, MSc),
  • a 6-semester doctoral program, which teaches the academic title of the doctor of Science.

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is one of the most prestigious technical faculties at the University of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Faculty offers academic excellence and the latest trends in technical education from all fields of machinery.

Our classrooms

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is one of the largest and best equipped faculties in BiH. The faculty has two large, purpose built buildings, with three large amphitheaters and numerous classrooms. The faculty has more modern computer classrooms and equipped laboratories.

The faculty library contains over 10,000 publications in the field of machine engineering, information technology, maths and the like. The library uses its own information system through which all publications can be reviewed and, if necessary, made their reservation.
